|CISB Parent Association Executive Committee Hosts Gingerbread Event|
On Thursday, November 24th, more than twenty parents turned out for the first Gingerbread Decoration event held at CISB. This event was organized by the CISB Parent Association Executive Committee. The parents decorated more than 150 gingerbread cookies and donated all the cookies to the CISB Invest Club. The CISB Invest club sold more than 150 cookies and raised 1470RMB—great job by everyone involved! A special thanks to our parent committee and all parents who joined this activity that led to much needed funds being raised for CISB Invest. Check out the pictures below to see for yourself how the event unfolded.
To explain what CISB Invest is please read the following: CISB Invest is a student led group with a goal to give back to their community. The members invest their time and effort to raise money for causes in the local community and around the world. To date, CISB Invest has raised over 15,000 RMB that has been used as donations and micro-loans to help individuals in 32 different countries with a variety of causes, such as medical bills, tuition, or helping to stock small community grocery stores. This past spring they also raised over 16,000 RMB to pay for the medical bill of a two-year old boy with retinoblastoma who required immediate treatment. Our CISB Parent Association Executive Committee is thrilled to be able to support such a wonderful cause and applauds the efforts of the students and their staff advisors who strive to make a positive difference in our world, especially with those who find themselves in less fortunate situations around the world.
