Calendars and Timetables
Timetables (Teacher)
Grades K, 1, and 2 timetables indicate when students participate in specialist subjects. After teachers have received their timetables, they must complete the blanks to indicate where their scheduled subjects will be taught. Timetables for other grades indicate the schedule for each teacher’s course load. Blanks are prep periods. There is no period 8 scheduled for Friday.

Daily Routines
Time
Please synchronize your watch with the school bells. Try to keep classes on schedule as much as possible. Do not tolerate lateness.
Arrival of Students
The principal will meet the buses and will stay on duty outside in the bus area until all buses arrive.
- Teachers will be in the building by 8:00.
- Homerooms will all be open by 8:10.
- Homeroom period begins at 8:25.
Attendance Reports
These must be completed each morning and sent down to the secretary. Please keep a record of student attendance in each homeroom.
Nutrition Break 10:30 – 10:45 (Grades 1– 5) 10:40 – 11:00 (Grades 6 – 11)
Students are to be supervised as per schedule. Teachers on duty are to ensure that play equipment is properly stored at the end of recess. Students may have a morning snack at this time.
Noon Hour 12:05 – 1:05 (Grades 1– 5) 12:00 – 1:00 (Grades 6 – 11)
Kindergarten students eat lunches in their homerooms. Grades 1–11 go immediately to the cafeteria. Encourage students to eat their lunches promptly so that they can go out to play and supervising teachers can get their lunches.
Classroom doors will be locked during noon hour.
Students should return to their homeroom approximately 5 minutes before the beginning of afternoon classes.
Silent Reading 1:05 – 1:25 (Grades 1– 5) 3:05 – 3:30 (Grades 6 – 11)
All students, teachers, and office staff are to read an English book or newspaper during this time. Encouraging students to read materials of interest to them will help them to develop fluency and acquire vocabulary. Although they may read magazines, they may not browse or flip through them as this is not the purpose of silent reading time.
End of Day for Grades K – 5
At 3:15, grades 1– 5 students return to homerooms and teachers supervise end of the day cleanup. Students should empty garbage, pick up all loose material, and clean the boards and ledges. Teachers should sign homework notebooks.
Bus Loading
Students dismiss at 3:05 on Fridays, 3:30 on other days. Students do not dismiss themselves from last class or activity period. Teachers are required to keep students until the last bell rings. The principal or designate will be on duty at this time; however, it takes a moment to get there from class and students need to be supervised as the buses are sometimes not there on time or backing into the loading area.
Activity period
2:45 to 3:15 Monday and Tuesday: All students from grades 1– 5 must be in an activity.
Bell Schedule
The followings are based on seven 40-minute periods each day (grades 1-5), five 60-minute periods each day (grades 6-11). (subject to change)
In addition, there is the final 30 minutes for grades 1 – 5 for organized cross-grade activities.
