Infant/Toddler Community Routine
 
08:25 - 10:30  The children arrive at The Canadian International School of Beijing and will be in the classroom engaged with Montessori materials. They will receive individual presentations in various subject areas depending on the children's progress, needs and developmental readiness . During the morning's activities, the children will gather to participate in readings, sing songs, story time, conversation and meaningful movement exercises.
 
10:30 - 11:00  The children will have the opportunity to prepare tables and then enjoy a group snack.
 
11:00 - 11:15  Children will help to clean up tables and get ready for outdoor activities.
 
11:15 - 11:30  Children will participate in carefully-planned outdoor activities.
 
11:30 Children will be ready to be picked up at the school foyer.
 
 
Primary Class Routine
 
08:25  Children are to be dropped off at the Canadian International School of Beijing main entrance.
 
09:00 - 11:15   Children will enjoy individual and group presentations in various areas such as Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, Music, Art, Geography and Culture . Everything is presented gradually to the children who progress at their own pace according to their needs and when they are developmentally ready.
 
Children are welcome to enjoy a snack at any time during the morning period.
 
11:15 - 11:30  The children will participate in a carefully-planned Outdoor Exercise Program at the school playground
 
11:30 Half-day children will be ready at the school foyer to be picked up.
 
Full day children will begin their table setting.
 
11:45 - 12:30  Full day children will enjoy a cooked international meal.
 
12:30 - 15:30  Full day children will be presented more advanced and extended individual and group presentations in the various subject areas mentioned above.

15:30  The children will be ready to be picked up at the school foyer. (Monday - Thursday)

Elementary, Middle & High School Daily Schedule(2006 – 2007)
 
The daily schedule is based on seven 40 minute periods each day (grades 1-8) and eight 40 minute periods each day (9-10). 

This schedule would allow 280 minutes per day of class instruction for grades 2-8 and 320 minutes per day for grades 9-10. 

In addition, there is the final 30-minute activity period (grades 1–8) during which students must choose activities. In some cases, the school will choose activities for students if they are in need of academic or language support.

Timetables (Teacher)

Grades K, 1, and 2 timetables indicate when students participate in specialist subjects. After teachers have received their timetables, they must complete the blanks to indicate where their scheduled subjects will be taught. Timetables for other grades indicate the schedule for each teacher’s course load. Blanks are prep periods. There is no period 8 scheduled for Friday.
